Three awards including the ongoing Phase 2 from NSF seed funding is supporting the development of a completely non toxic blood bag

NASA

Funding from NASA is enabling Xheme to develop high performance polymer films for bio pharmaceutical applications that are also resistant to Space radiation and are better chemically recyclable

Renolit Group

Research and development partnership with Renolit Group, the world’s leading manufacturer of blood bag film, focuses on creating Polymer Composite Technology for blood bags, bioprocessing bags, and other advanced applications.

Vitalant Research Institute (VRI)

As the premier transfusion medicine research institute in the US, VRI is dedicated to scientific and policy advancements in transfusion therapy and blood product availability. Xheme and VRI has been collaborating for the last 4+ years in developing the completely non-PVC and non-DEHP blood storage technologies. Together they won three NSF STTR awards with the most recent NSF-STTR Phase 2 project is in progress.

University of Massachusetts Lowell

Carrying out contract research with UMass Lowell’s Plastics Engineering Department, an internationally recognized leader in plastics engineering education and one of the US’s leading centers for plastics technology, 

University of Bologna

A joint invention directed at the use of Xheme Multifunctional Additive (XMA) as autoxidation inhibitors of organic substrates susceptible to autoxidation. XMA is more specifically employed in combination with a co-antioxidant. A U.S. Patent Application # 17/817,858 was recently filed.

University at Albany

Carrying out contract research with the RNA Institute in testing next generation bioprocessing bags made using Xheme Technologies.
