A Robust Intellectual Property Portfolio

Currently, Xheme has seven patents pending, three of which have been developed in conjunction with partners. Xheme’s intellectual property portfolio can be broadly divided into the following five categories:

  • Compositional matter related to XMA (Patent Appl. No.: 17/390,199 )
  • Application of XMA in the reduction of oxidation and storage hemolysis to better preserve stored blood and blood components (17/938,878, 17/263,526, and  8,747,907 developed with and co-owned by Vitalant Research Institute and Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine)
  • Application of XMA in paints and coating formulations (PCT/US22/81272 and 17/390,199)
  • Application of XMA for polymers, resins plastics and packaging materials (17/664,253 & 17/817,858 in collaboration with the University of Bologna)
  • Application of XMA to reduction of oxidative stress during bioprocessing
